The author refers to the sound was purple. When i hear purple i think of power or royalty. So when she mention the sound was purple she meaning that it had some type of power to it wind or something like that.

The sound was purple for it was dark and hurtfull. In this poem it made me almost feel sick for they really got into detail with the bodies filled up with water.I feel sorry for the people that had to go through this strom.
